Dozens of local business owners came out to connect with each other and network with officials from the City of Columbia’s Office of Business Opportunity at the Power Hour networking event, held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. The event was held at the Main Street office of Optus Bank, formerly known as the South Carolina Community Bank.

The purpose of the event was to give local business owners the opportunity to learn about $182 million in contracts that will be awarded by the City of Columbia in the near future.

The event also served as the launch of the Mentor Matchup Initiative for Women-owned small businesses. This initiative is open to women-owned businesses in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry, Kershaw, Orangeburg, Calhoun and Saluda counties.
