Optus Partnership Project
Headwater Energy’s Solar Development in Rural North Carolina
In a significant step toward advancing clean energy, Optus Bank partnered with Headwater Energy to finance the development of Gum Swamp Solar, a 112.5-Megawatt DC Solar Farm in Scotland County, North Carolina. With a $32 million development loan, Optus Bank is empowering Headwater Energy to bring this transformative project to life, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and environmental stewardship.
A Brighter Future for Rural North Carolina
The Gum Swamp Solar Project:
Will provide clean energy to the yearly consumption of approximately 17,000 U.S. households
Projected to generate 191,698 MWh of electricity annually
Reduces carbon emissions and
drives economic development,
creates more jobs,
improves rural infrastructure
